The NetBeacon Institute is pleased to share that NetBeacon Reporter has expanded the types of harms accepted through the centralized reporting conduit. These new features come as NetBeacon has surpassed 400,000 reports of DNS Abuse.
This achievement marks significant and continued progress in our work to provide a simple, effective centralized conduit for evidenced based reporting to internet intermediaries. Hosting providers have been included as report recipients since 2024, reflecting the fact that some harms are more appropriately mitigated at the hosting level.
For providers of reports, the types of harms they see aren’t limited to DNS Abuse and often span multiple categories of content harms, which are typically more appropriately mitigated by the host. To support the work of our report providers, we’re excited to expand the categories available to them while ensuring each new harm is approached with a bespoke integration aligned to its unique attributes.
Consistent with our approach to ensure quality evidence based reporting, each new harm undergoes a process of determining a standardized evidence package and understanding relevant enrichments. To continue this mission we’re excited to announce a new feature:
Report providers can now submit reports of crypto and investment scams. These will be sent to hosting providers automatically. Registrars and registries are able to opt in if they would like to receive these reports.

Each report submitted via NetBeacon Reporter is part of a global effort to address abuse, and contributes to making the Internet safer for everyone.
